Do you known this book?

Some time ago in a sci fi documental they mention (and i forgot to write down), a novel about the dangers of mass media control, in a sci fi futuristic novel, about a news overlord who controls the news of entire planets (i think from mars...)... The documental was about profetic sci fi and they mention jules verne and arthur c clarke. I was googleing a lot searching some book like that but i cant find anythink like it. Maybe somebody read it? Thanks a lot.!!!
