Why do people hate & fear people from other countries but glorify aliens from outer space?

That's actually a very good question... I think it's because we don't know what to expect when we see aliens, so we just absent-mindedly think they're better than us, because they're different. We know what other races are like, so I guess it makes us think that we have the right to bash on them because they're different, because we think we know them.
