Proper way to Beat your Dog?

I know alot of people like to hit their dogs with newspapers, Im not trying to take my anger out on my dog I just want to discipline him. Lately hes being peeing all over the house and barks whenever someone passes by the house, I usually kick him (not 2 hard) in his behind, or if he pees Ill take my shoe and smack him in the nose by where he peed. But hes gotten more out of control, Should I give him snacks instead, and train him that way or should I just him harder?
